My Wife's Total Hip Replacement Surgery part 2

First of all, everything went great, the Dr. said the hip replacement went "perfect" Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, it is so much appreciated.

Arrived at hospital on time, at 8:30 AM (they can't start without her) and checked in and of course waited to be taken to 3rd floor surgery unit.

The wait wasn't long and we we're soon in going through all the prep. questions, your name is? date of birth, what are you having done? which hip? what did you eat or drink in the last 8 hours, etc. etc. The only thing that took extra time was getting the IV's in and started, which was no surprise to us, as many times Mary has been poked for blood work we knew it would be a challenge. A 2nd nurse came to try and managed to get it in and we were ready to go.
The O.R. nurse came in and said it is time for hugs & kisses and I told her I would see her on the flip side (not the nurse, although she was cute) and in Mary went and I went back down to the lobby to wait. Bro in law arrived and after we found out everything went well and she was in recovery, we figured it was time for Carl's Jr. for a burger while we had a chance.

Upon arriving back at the hospital, the pink ladies told us she was in her room (private) and when we got there she looked really good considering, Believe me, I've seen her worse coming out of previous surgeries. She had a great floor nurse that got her all settled and set up. The hardest part for me was watching the Dodgers lose game 5 of the NLCS, RATS! Ran to Vons and picked up Ginger Ale and bottled water to leave for her overnight. About 8:10 pm it was time for me to go home.

Physical Therapy is supposed to be there in the morning to get her up and moving. Good to have this day done and she's in good care......to be continued in Part 3
